Welcome to my blog. I develop, write, and photograph my own recipes, cooking techniques, product reviews, and my food adventures. I have always been diligent at home cook. I have worked in and out of the food industry since I was 16. I have been in various roles such as a sous cook, line cook, grill cook, baker, pantry, cake designer/ decorator and so on. My true passion for all things food related has led me to open my own restaurant. In September 2011, I opened Rock That Plate Cafe.
I live in German-Paristown here in Louisville, Kentucky. I am married to Jason Riegling. We have our own band of furry four legged loved ones! My dog, The Governor, and two cats, Emerson, and The Goose! I have the best family, group of pals, and neighborhood to cook for! Life is fantastic and always crazy! Remember, you get what you give! Make it the best.
Our Mission:
We
are fresh alternative to feed the masses. If you are on the run we are
the one for you. Look for us if attend a trade show or event at the
Kentucky Fair and Expo Center. Let us cater your event. All types of
food and needs are welcome. We can tailor a menu specifically for you. I
have a wide range of culinary expertise.
At the Cafe, we concentrate all of our efforts to deliver fresh food that
is made to order right in front of you with high quality ingredients.
This has been a rarity for the convention center type setting. We offer our house made soups that change daily, entree salads,
sandwiches and desserts.
We are very proud to announce our affiliation with Healthy Hometown
Restaurant initiative. We have worked with a nutritionist to provide
information on our menus. This includes a full work up on calories and
nutritional content of each item served. We have relaunched several soup recipes. We made slight changes to provide more balance. We absolutely did not tinker with our flavor profile.
Do not get me wrong. We are no
way Big Mac bullies! I just do not think life should be about drive-thru
windows. I freely admit my Transit Connect can be spotted at the WC Lounge on occasion. I am just a proponent for having options. That is truly the bases of my business.
We have yet to meet a food allergy or diet restriction that we can't
happily conquer. The only nuts we have are on the payroll. And always....Remember, you can Rock That Plate!
