A chili cook off at the American Legion Post 201!

The # 2 pot is mine! These are some other chili's. There is a great photo of my friends- Dave and Bud! We had a great time eating chili! We had a great turn out!

Chili:
1 roll of Kroger's chuck ground beef
2 large Spanish white onions diced fine
3 cloves of garlic minced fine
3 fresh green chilies( jalapenos) diced fine
2 large cans of tomato juice
2 large cans of petite diced tomatoes
6 cans of red or kidney beans
Spice mix:
2 cups paprika
1 cup hot paprika
1 cup ground
cumin
1/2 cup garlic powder, onion powder, kosher salt and black pepper
I keep this mix in a tub and use it for lots of things like taco meat.
brown meat, onions and 1/2 cup of spice mix. Brown meat and add all other ingredients into stock pot. I usually add 1/2 cup more of spice mix! We like it hot! Chili freezes well if you have your spaghetti noodles on the side. We all know it taste better the next day!
At the American Legion Post 201 we charged $4.00 for all you cared to eat chili! Someone told me that we raised over $200.00. It was GREAT FUN!! I did win 3rd place! Congrats to all who participated.
